Curriculum Knowledge

Demonstrates understanding of the enduring understandings, processes and skills for the subject disciplines and is able to connect students to the curriculum through engaging and meaningful learning learning tasks.

Some examples of how I have demonstrated this throughout my career are:

  • Outcomes relating to the task on task sheet
  • Creation of unit workbooks to help guide instruction based on curricular outcomes
  • Performance tasks
  • Cross-curricular Projects
  • Use of the Inquiry wheel throughout projects
  • Teaching French through inquiry
  • Creation of a book club and assessment based on curricular outcomes and school expectations
  • Creations of student reflection and  self-assessment tools based on curricular outcomes
  • Use of I Can statements as generated by students
  • Use of front matter of curriculum for planning to match then with specific outcomes
